Well, if I have learned one thing this week, it is how nice it is to have my Praxis work completed by Friday night.
I don’t think I’ve actually had all my work completed by Friday since this program started and I’m always stressed on the weekends about the work I need to get done.
But this week, I was able to complete all my assignments by Friday and I am super happy about that.
My goal now is to do the same this coming week which should prove to be more difficult because the workload is a bit heavier, but I am looking forward to the challenge. Anyway, on to what’s been going on in this past week…
Praxis.
This week was my first week of the sales module. It has gone pretty well so far although I think the workload will be ramping up over the next couple of weeks, so I definitely want to stay on top of keeping my work spread out throughout the week or even getting it done in the early part of the week. This week, my assignments were to write a few articles detailing my experiences as a customer. I guess it’s important to know how customers think in order to sell to them. They were all pretty short articles that mainly involved answering prompts provided to me. If you’d like to check them out, I’ll link them below…
Aside from that, there’s not much to say for this week’s work.
I began reading “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” - Robert Kiyosaki. I’m about halfway through it so far and it has been a very interesting read. However, one thing that always gets me about the financial or self-help books that I’ve read is their lack of actionable advice.
I like information straight.
I want to know what you think and why you think it as opposed to you beating around the bush to tell me.
Often, they are really vague about their guidance, and it can sometimes feel like a waste of time to read as you end up with more questions than answers.
But after some thinking about that, I came to the conclusion that maybe giving you fodder for creating questions in your own brain is the true purpose of books like that. Not to give you the answers because not everyone’s answer is the same. But to give you a foundation to make you curious about the “right” things and push you to find the answers on your own.
I have been trying to think that way when it comes to this book and really try to from good questions and items that I can research to learn more on later. Hopefully that will allow me to make better use of the information that is provided books such as that and make them more enjoyable to read.
Work.
Work was pretty busy this past week, as I mentioned in my last newsletter. However, because my Praxis load was on the lighter side and I hit it hard early on in the week, it was not as stressful as it could’ve been.
I had carpet jobs most of the week but then at the end of the week I was back helping on the big concrete epoxy job I mentioned last week.
This week we worked on getting the section we were working on prepped for coating and coated. That involved vacuuming the entire space super well to remove any and all debris, taping off areas, and finishing any crack or divot filling that was missed previously. After that was all completed, we were able to lay our coating.
For this particular job we are only laying one high strength layer of epoxy as opposed to our typical base coat and color chips with clear coat over top. I don’t think it’s gonna hold up very well but it’s what the company wanted so it’s what we’re doing. haha

Here are some pictures from after the concrete was adequately prepped and after we laid the coating down. Definitely a huge difference.
In total we have about 30,000 more ft2 to go before January 1st so we’ve got our work cut out for us. Hopefully we can make it happen!
Personal.
This week was pretty uneventful as far as personal stuff is concerned. I was mainly just working and doing Praxis stuff.
This weekend has been nice though. With no work stuff and all my Praxis stuff finished by Friday I was able to have the weekend to myself, so I took it as an opportunity to get some things done.
I hauled some scrap in and cleaned up our yard and garage a bit (in an attempt to get to my truck to work on it haha). Then I hung out with my dad for a bit before we went to my sister’s first basketball game of the season.
She is a senior in High school this year and just started going to a new school so I was interested in seeing what their ball team would be like. My sister is a pretty good player, and she wants to play in college after high school so hopefully they will have a good season.
Unfortunately, they got absolutely trounced last night. Hopefully it was just first game jitters for everyone, and they can get things straightened out for their next game. haha
Conclusion.
Anyway, that’s about it for this week. It was busy but it went well and I’m excited for next week. I’ll be diving deeper into sales, working quite a bit, and hopefully learning a lot. Thanks for reading and have a great week!
